More about Rwanda - Inzovu Peaberry

One of the smallest and most densely populated countries of Africa, Rwanda offers ideal conditions for Arabica coffee production with its volcanic rich soils, rainfall distribution and mild temperatures. These factors lead coffee beans to grow slowly and have a distinctive taste.

In Rwanda, coffee is grown along the coast of Lake Kivu and at altitudes from 1350 to 1850 meters. One distinctive element of Rwandan coffees is that soil fertility is maintained through traditional methods, and less chemical fertilizers & insecticides are used at the cultivation.

Located in the heart of Rwanda, Kigali is the capital city as well as known for being the one of the safest, cleanest and most organized cities in Africa. What distinguishes Rwanda Kigali Coffee is its traceability to producer level.

The coffee beans are grown at the altitudes of 1,400-1900 MASL by the Inzovu community. The community is composed of 65 washing stations and over 80,000 farmers across Rwanda. It represents the annual offering of Rwanda Trading Company.

This blend highlights the organization's capacity to consistently maintain a uniform profile year after year through cooperative endeavors. The community blend undergoes a wet-processing and sun-drying method on elevated tables for 15-20 days, resulting in a well-balanced cup.

Established in 2009, Rwanda Trading Company works as a strong supporter for positive social influence. Committed to ensuring economic freedom and security for smallholder farmers, the company has built robust and transparent supply chains. With ownership and operation of sixteen wet milling stations, RTC directly interacts with Rwandan farmers, monitoring the complete coffee process from procurement to marketing, all while investing in building communities through agribusiness training programs.

Since 2013, these programs, centered on inventive cultivation techniques and cost reduction, have yielded a remarkable 86 percent increase in farm revenue for RTC's producer-partners. This cooperative endeavor nurtures enduring economic stability, constructing from the foundation upwards.
